Carpenter, Orb's Year 937-940

Orb's Year 937
There was a lot of work to be done to care for the little twins.  But, Fiona enjoyed every moment of it!
Her babies were so special to her.  Sometimes she felt like she needed to pinch herself!
She was married to a wonderful husband with two sweet babies.
It was like a dream come true!

Orb's Year 938
And the time spent with her babies seemed to fly by.  Soon they were turning into toddlers!
But, still, she hadn't been able to conceive again.  She'd been trying for years because she wanted a large, happy family.  It didn't seem fair when her friends seemed to become pregnant without trying at all, like Kitty Fischer!
Fiona pasted on a smile, though, and offered her congratulations.
After all, she had her two dear children...
...and her wonderful husband.
And like Robin said.  They could always keep practicing until they got it right!

Orb's Year 939
The newborn stage had blissfully easy for Fiona.  But somehow, she never seemed to have enough time to get things done with two little toddlers scurrying around.

It seemed she had just cleaned one mess, when another was being made!
But, they slept like angels!  Fiona didn't have the heart to stay mad at her little rugrats!
Her temper and lack of energy soon became apparent when Fiona noticed her belly expanding.

Blessed Orb, I'm not ready to be pregnant again, Fiona thought sadly.
She sent off a missive to her twin sister, asking her to come.
"I came over as soon as I received your message!" Abbess Farrah said.  "What's the matter?"
"I'm pregnant!" Fiona cried, "And I don't want to be!"

Farrah patted her sister's shoulder.  "Where is Robin?"

Fiona motioned towards the wood shop.  "He's in there, trying to get us more money."

"Why don't you go lay down and I'll take care of the kids this afternoon.  Get some rest."
And Farrah bustled around, entertaining Bryan...
..and bathing little Amber.
Fiona rested until a sharp pain woke her up.
At her sister's scream, Farrah hurried into the bedroom.
Fiona had just delivered her newborn and then alarmingly, she'd dropped to the floor, gazing far-off.  Unable to look at the small boy she'd delivered.
Farrah hurried to tell Robin that Fiona needed help.
Robin stopped short in the doorway, worried about his wife as she sat there on the floor sobbing.
Cautiously, he headed in.  "Fiona? Love? Are you okay?" he asked tenderly.

Fiona shook her head and refused to meet his eye.
"Hey, Fiona, it's me.  Robin! Look at me..."

Fiona slowly turned her gaze towards him.

"There we are.  Why don't I help you in bed.  Rest, love."

Fiona nodded as a tear leaked from her eye.  "I thought I wanted another child," she said sadly.

"I know! I did, too.  Right now you're just tired. You'll feel better in a little while and you'll get to meet your new son!"

Fiona allowed Robin to tuck her in and then she squeezed her eyes shut tightly.
Robin watched her sleep for a time and then headed back out to check on his children.  He should've known Farrah would still be there, watching over them.

"Thank you, Farrah.  I don't know if I could've done it without you."

Farrah patted her brother-in-law's shoulder.  "She's my twin. There's nowhere else I would've been. May I stay awhile?"

Robin nodded numbly and they both sat down in the still of the night to wait.

Orb's Year 940
Fiona tried not to worry, but there was something just not right with her anymore.  She cried at the drop of a hat.  She worried incessantly about any small little thing.  And her temper had taken a nasty turn.

In the blink of an eye her dream had shattered into a nightmare...
Robin had tried to be patient, but he was growing tired of her... she could tell!  She didn't clean anymore, she didn't watch the children as well as she should.

He'd come home to find Curtis wailing for his mother's milk and he'd lost it, yelling at her and accusing her of hurting their child.

Tears filled her eyes and she'd hurried into the room and slammed the door as Robin stomped over to care for the poor baby.
"Mama and Daddy don't love each other anymore." Bryan told Amber sadly.  "I heard Daddy yelling at Mommy because she hadn't cleaned.  We need to make sure not to be too messy."

Amber nodded worriedly.  "Do you think they'll get rid of us?"
"No matter what happens, we'll have each other. Pinkie-swear," Bryan said holding out his pinkie finger.

"Pinkie-swear," Amber repeated, grasping his pinkie with her own.

No matter what happened, they'd always have each other...
